As well as safer & more pedestrian-friendly, Deansgrange Village would be 100 times more attractive if OPTION 3 outlined in consultation was chosen. Hope this opportunity to turn a junction into a proper village is not missed! Thurs is LAST DAY to submit!!

Single-use zoning is elder abuse. Those land use regulations keep older people in the deadly grip of car dependency.
"Per mile traveled, fatal crash rates increase noticeably starting at age 70-74 and are highest among drivers 85 and older." @IIHS_autosafety
This is ridiculous, where is the traffic management plan. Cycling is a legitimate from of Transport.
Nobody should have to dismount, clearly Jonathan can't. I explained this was a concern.
In any other European city, in the heart of the main nightlife area, this would be pedestrianised and filled with tables for outdoor dining.
In Soho, London, this space is used by 6 privileged individuals to store their private property in a public area @CityWestminster
We were shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of six-year old Ula Grigaityte who was struck by a truck while cycling her bicycle in Galway.
Our heartfelt sympathies are with her family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.
May little Ula rest in peace ❤️
As a Galway-based voluntary group campaigning for safer streets for all, we will continue to work with local Councils and other stakeholders to highlight dangerous junctions and fight for improvements to our infrastructure to make our streets safer for all.
There’s certainly systemic flaws with the BusConnects design/approval process in terms of a blind spot to the needs of cyclists but overall what a massive improvement on the rolled out routes. Streets are a lot calmer which is better for all!
BusConnects routes are staggeringly popular, 48% user increase on new services, compared to just 8% on non-BusConnects routes
The NTA need to push faster and introduce the next phases as quickly as possible to meet the rising demand

I've been hoping that Dublin would make such bold moves as Paris. I heard about this in 2023 when presenting on Bicycle Heroes in Brussels. And we got a trial school streets in DCC August to December 2024 and consultation was closed in December and have requested a presentation to our next NCAC meeting and then will push for schools/children to get priority in active travel transport plans. They are the heart of our communities. #SchoolStreets #ActiveTravel

@declanvarley Council road designers need to take safety guidelines more seriously instead of continuously forgetting that walkers and wheelers need to get around the place. Also, where are the safety improvements post bypass?
May he RIP, condolences to his family.
@declanvarley There are two recent reports of close passing of cyclists by drivers (one described as a “punishment pass”) on this stretch of road on https://t.co/MUr8k0hhcT The flawed design of the new road and junctions mixes fast moving heavy vehicles with vulnerable road users. (1/2)
