In order to reach a 19% v/v reading on your portable device you will require 10% of some other gas to displace the Oxygen. If the other gas is Carbon Dioxide, then the level of 10% may be fatal - your Oxygen Monitor wont pick that up...

Asses the risk, know your gases on site.

Calibrating your monitors - is it important?

YES!

Daily use of monitors from accidental dropping to extreme exposure to temperatures and humidity and external contamination can all affect the sensors response to gas.

Get them checked every 6 months!
