Gyanvapi mosque has a capacity of 1200 people, yet only 300 people used to come for offering their Friday prayers. Mostly a religious place of little significance & utility, same was true for Babri masjid, mostly in shambles, little renovation.

Both these were built over the most revered Hindu places. Literally the birthplace of the god. As a sword through the heart of the defeated. A tower of victory, a symbol of subjugation. Once the emperors died away and the dynasty was lost, the towers don’t mean anything. Yet it took centuries for the majority to take these back. It isn’t secularism. It’s just appeasement.
