SAFI is a farmer-centered & youth-led social enterprise providing objective, research-based knowledge to meet farmers’ agricultural & environmental needs.
Gabriel is a farmer from #Kasese, Uganda who had, over the years, desired to make his farm a single, self-sustaining ecosystem.
But things turned around after SAFI joined hands with him, providing quality #seedlings, #agronomy support and training #farmers in his neighborhood.
The 3rd Rwenzori Region Agribusiness Tour is back this July 1st–4th! Over the last 2 years, we’ve trained dozens of emerging entrepreneurs & students.
Expect hands-on field visits, model farm tours & networking around the campfire!
Check the flyer for payment info! #SAFI

Spoke with @nbstv about the realities of rice cultivation in Mubuku irrigation scheme. Farmers face major production challenges, but the soaring cost of essential inputs like fertilizers and pesticides is the biggest hurdle.
There’s urgent need for targeted subsidy programs.
These crops provide nutrient-dense foods that are essential for community health and play a crucial role in preserving the survival of varieties that have flourished in the region for generations.

"Despite our abundance, Africa still imports $70 billion of food each year and loses 30 to 40% of its harvest post-farm and still produces only 60 to 70% of its food needs. This cannot continue. We must commit to turning the #CAADP3 strategy into concrete implementation. Africa cannot wait to harness its potential and transform its food systems. We owe it to the 300 million Africans living in poverty, to our young people searching for fulfilling work, and to our women who hold our communities together."

At SAFI, we're passionate about empowering our interns with practical skills and real-world knowledge. Today was a perfect example! Our interns from various academic instituitions were in the field, getting their hands dirty with #soil sampling and on-the-spot soil testing.
