The “close divide” in USA only exists among white people. Every other racial demographic is clear in majority opposition to Trump but white ppl are 70% of US. Again, there’s this constant effort to frame the narrative in ways that avoid examination of white identity politics.

Once again, the Seattle Police Department has outdone themselves, unleashing a violent, unprovoked attack on a group of protesters outside their union headquarters. Their campaign of terror continued late into the night, resulting in organizers being hospitalized and arrested.

Mayor Jenny Durkan held a press conference today in a last-ditched effort to stop the impending vote to defund the Seattle Police Department. She wildly misrepresented the defunding plan, and her role in stifling police accountability.

Streets are literally public property. So are sidewalks but the marchers even stay off of those to avoid being too close to the private properties. Many are marching in their own neighborhood. The Every Day March is *explicitly* against intruding on or damaging private property.

I didn't say anything about the quantity of people who hate Black people enough to do this. The fact of the matter is that every Black person grows up knowing that people want them dead just for existing. And there's no real reason to make light of that fact for our own comfort.

It's really not presumptuous for ppl who saw him swerve in order to hit BLM protesters, to posit that it was motivated by the hate we already know exists.
