Illegal mining is systematically destroying cocoa farms across the country, particularly in major cocoa-growing regions such as Western North, Ashanti, Eastern, Bono, and Central Regions.

Vast hectares of cocoa land are being cleared and converted into galamsey sites. Once these farms are destroyed, cocoa production is reduced, affecting Ghana’s supply. The sharp decline in cocoa production when demand is still high has resulted in an increase in the price of cocoa. #StopGalamseyNow
