Kenyan lady Peris Maranga travelling from Nakuru to Kisii by matatu met a hawker at the stage. She was not going to buy anything, then the hawker said, "Even if you are not buying, just ask the price. It gives me hope."
The goods she was carrying cost Ksh500. The traveller paid the Ksh500 and told her to keep everything and continue selling.
Small money to one person. A full morning to the other, this probably made her entire day.
Today at Milimani Law Courts as I was coming from a hearing in a criminal matter where I am watching brief, this man approaches me clearly looking distraught.
He tells me he was a complainant in a criminal matter involving the theft if his property. Judgement had been delivered in this matter in his absence and the registry was taking him in circles when he asked to see the judgment.
I accompany him to the registry and they come up with one last trick of telling me that I need to write a letter to be allowed to peruse the file. Because I was taught well, I didn’t argue, I took a piece of paper and a pen then wrote this.
Suddenly, the entire judgment was now available, was printed and handed over to this gentleman. He was very grateful.
Chronicles of a practitioner.

You don’t appreciate how HUGE the A380 is until you see this
Etihad’s A380 lifting off from London Heathrow in a scene that looks straight out of a movie. Four engines, two decks, nearly 80 metres of wingspan and somehow this enormous machine makes the rotation look effortless.
Against that grey Heathrow sky, the scale, power and elegance of the world’s largest passenger airliner are impossible to miss.
Pure aviation cinema. 🇦🇪✈️
A protected witness in the Albert Ojwang’ murder case, police officer Stephen Maina Nderitu, dies before testifying, with investigators saying he was expected to provide evidence linking former OCS Samson Talam to tampering with the CCTV hard drive at Nairobi Central Police Station.
After class 8, mambo ilikuwa ngumu kidogo. A certain teacher organized fundraiser with his pals and made sure I joined F1. Unfortunately he died b4 I graduated 🥲.
Sikuizi events zozote za kwake mimi hutokea mzima ❤️ mzima, wife yake hushuku mimi ni mtoi wake alipeana ball nje
I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.
