No laughing matter. Indian army, whose men until now had no match in the Himalayas, will be the first defense force in the world to face a robotic army during an active conflict. As soon as the summer of 2027.

A robotic army that can perform extremely well at low temperatures, low oxygen, has no fear, and precisely and ruthlessly shoot.

India needs to start strategizing and preparing for this. India needs to fund DRDO immediately to create electronic warfare devices that can fry their circuits dozens at a time.

They are being built in tens of thousands. And the battery life is getting good enough to sustain an hour of any work, including running around shooting.

There is something deeply patronising in Sharmila Tagore’s argument. Arabs can sing Vande Mataram as a gesture of respect to India and remain perfectly secure in their monotheism, but apparently Indian Muslims must treat every Hindu reference as a theological emergency. Islam does not become weaker because you acknowledge the civilisation you share a country with.

All in all, a win for one state is a win for the whole country. 

I’ve not seen the rest of the conversation but in this clip he’s missing out on the ground work that has been done for the last couple of decades. 

Gujarat has been looking at urban planning since the early 2000s - look at the Sabarmati Riverfront and the BRTS and Metro.

Way before the bids for things like the Commonwealth Games, there has been the vision for the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sports Enclave, which features elite facilities. 

The Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority has also been following a strict 20-year master plan to weave athletic facilities into the city’s growth. 

So these things are not add ons to the state, they have been kept in mind as the state has progressed. 

Gujarat has also hosted massive summits. 

I remember helping a former boss with his trip to Gandhinagar for the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas and Vibrant Gujarat Summit over a decade ago. 

Even the recent Coldplay concert was one way for the state to test itself in hosting an event of that magnitude, alongside their shows at DY Patil. 

It’s allowed to progress.

And it will inevitably attract investment and interest because people can see the investment and work gone in. 

There shouldn’t be a tall poppy mentality if your brother is doing well. 

You should be happy for it alongside continuing to build on what you feel is not happening in your own state. 

Perhaps Tamil Nadu’s way of progressing doesn’t look like Gujarat’s and it brings its own definition of ‘Viksit’.

That’s fine too. 

Gujarat is still allowed to keep going with what it’s doing.
