With UNICEF’s support, The Department of Law, University of Chattogram & the Law & Justice Division of Ministry of Law Justice and Parliamentary Affairs have signed an MoU to add the Children Act 2013 to the LL.M curriculum promoting restorative justice.

At all times, detention of children must be the very last resort and for the shortest possible time.

Exciting to see video-conferencing to process children’s cases. Children wait months, or years, for a court hearing often hundreds of kilometres away. Video conferences save time & money and transition to a more child-friendly legal system. Thanks @SwedeninBD and @EUinBangladesh

@brigham_emma @SwedeninBD @EUinBangladesh This is first time child sensitive Children’s Court renovation work already done in 09 districts 11 Children Court. Law and Justice Division, MoLJPA own this structural changes and hopefully they will replicate this best practice to the other Courts in BD. Thanks to UNICEF BD.
