@brokenPrime@gelliottmorris No it didn’t. You’re only saying it did because a the so-called “moderate” candidate outspent the progressive’s campaign 9-to-1 and still lost.
You’re right about the data not being able to establish the causal effect of Democratic opposition/protests. Maybe Republicans might hypothetically have lost even more support without them, maybe not.
But the data clearly shows the GOP advantage on these issues has significantly eroded, which weakens the “talking about immigration helps Republicans” narrative.
Someone can favor immigration enforcement while becoming less confident in GOP’s handling of it.
@mehdirhasan Neera is doing exactly what she's paid to do:
1. Taking up space.
2. "Disciplining" the left.
3. Laughing at us while she does it.
Zero obligation on her end to genuinely engage with real people's concerns.
@devildea4@tylerwestside Yea I think someone removed me almost immediately after I mentioned Dan Saltman being a Jewish supremacist. Because of his logs that were leaked on twitter today.
@transtifa80594@thesoypill We all know why Stevens campaign was torpedo’d. Perhaps next time she won’t get on a podium and literally tell us about her fever dream of Israel, like a complete weirdo….
1. Jordan currently has 2.4million Palestinian refugees, and most of them have Jordanian citizenship. Stupid.
2. Egypt doesn’t open its borders because they fear Palestinians will be permanently displaced (again). And they don’t want to be roped into a war with Israel either.
3. Egypt currently houses over 100,000 Palestinians.
Valiant effort… but this is very misleading. Here are the facts:
1. Egypt never “owned” or annexed Gaza as sovereign territory. It only administered it (temporarily) via military rule.
2. Jordan “claimed” sovereignty over West Bank (again, temporarily), but its annexation received very limited international recognition. Control and a largely unrecognized annexation is not the same as legal ownership.
3. Dave knows this (but you clearly don’t).
You should fire your ADL friends since they keep giving you bad info.✨
I hear you. And I don’t disagree. Anyone who uses the n-word slur against Black people is not only a terrible racist, but also low iq.
My point was: there is a legitimate difference between reporting “officers used the n-word” and documenting precisely what the complainants reported. Sanitizing racist language spoken from figures of authority & powerful positions risks making the underlying conduct seem less severe than it is to the public.
The cops were actively trying to bury the incidents by writing it off as “discourtesy” (this was the central factor to the story, the coverup). Which is why Hasan clearly wanted to expose precisely the racial slurs cops were hurling at Black people.
Racists (especially in law enforcement) don’t deserve protection.
