By enforcing Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 & Title II of the ADA, @EDcivilrights protects students from discrimination because of a disability.

Chatting with a teacher this morning… “If we behave like this towards each other, how can we expect our students to manage their behaviors?” Hmmm…#education#teacher#school#edutwitter
Frequently, neurodiverse pupils go undiagnosed for years -is it presumed that intelligence & learning disabilities exist at opposite ends of the cognitive spectrum? - Or our concept of intelligence applies only as A Grades in every area of the curriculum?

My aunt was telling me at her jobs the problem they have when they hire young people is they sit at their desk and do nothing because they are trained in school to be told what to do. This is not the real world. #googleEDU
@RebekahRadice My mother was my most influential role model. She helped me to know exactly who I didn’t want to be! This sounds negative and sad; however, it was truly impactful.
Teachers don’t just see a child as they are, but they see their unique potential. That’s why teachers never give up on their students even if they give up on themselves.
If every child in America is experiencing a pandemic, how do we claim that they are behind. Who are they behind? A benchmark that was dictated by an educational system that has been broken for more than five decades???
Let me say clearly:
These are not “Covid Kids”, “Struggling Learners”, or “Kids with Learning Gaps”.
These are OUR CHILDREN.
They are gritty, they’re resilient, & they deserve to be defined by more than the trauma we’ve endured.

School boards and districts, never underestimate the importance of encouraging your school leaders. When they feel supported and appreciated, there's energy that the whole school feeds off.
@AnkerMath You are a gift to students who have to put family first, who have anxiety, or struggle with other aspects of their education. Others don’t give them that bend. ...That small bit of flexibility. Teachers like yourself are blessings.
