You’re still Catholic, hate to break it to you. Unfortunate that you got caught up in the management. The Eucharist is the only “Catholic priority”, literally the body and blood of Jesus Christ. The entire Mass is from scripture. Look up Fr. Mark Beard’s homilies and come home.
Fr. Ripperger: “Don’t get sucked into all the negativity. If you keep your focus entirely on God and all the things that pertain to God, then you won’t lose your intellectual clarity about God, the world, and reality.”
@EricRSammons@M1_Rifleman Fr. Ripperger on SRS said the same thing as Fr. Rehill. I was never going to watch this goyslop trash anyway, but it’s naive of you to call his comment superstitious.
@OwenBenjamin We sold our 100 acre vacant lot in rural Maine to a couple from another part of very rural Maine. We had multiple above asking price offers from Chinese “LLC”s and many out of staters. We refused. Small price to pay for keeping Maine with Mainers.
@shagbark_hick We have a faithful family up here though our good and Holy priests are stretched thin. It’s a lot of ground to cover. Our Pastor is on the younger side, which is positive!
"Judge not" is the most abused phrase in the modern world. It is not a shield for degeneracy, no matter how many times it is used.
People use this verse to silence any criticism of bad behavior or lack of standards.
But the full context (Matthew 7) warns against hypocritical judgment (the beam in your own eye), not judgment itself. Later, we are told to "judge with righteous judgment."
A man without judgment is a man without standards. You must be able to discriminate between good and evil, beauty and ugliness.
The command isn't to be blind but to ensure your own house is in order so that your judgment of the world is valid and ordered towards the greater good.
