Dangote has done agriculture, did oil… and now he is entering something big.

For a long time, people have been asking: Will Dangote ever invest in tech?

Because if AI is the new oil, then one question matters: Who will pull the kind of capital needed to power it in Africa?

Not startups. Not VCs.

Someone who understands infrastructure at scale.

And suddenly, this news drops: Dangote is looking at data centres.

Now it makes sense.

Because Dangote has never really been about “businesses.” He builds systems countries depend on.

Cement — you can’t build without him.
Fertiliser — you can’t farm efficiently without him.
Refinery — you can’t power an economy without him.

So this move into data?

It’s not tech hype.

It’s infrastructure thinking.

Because data centres are not just buildings with servers. They are the engine rooms of AI, fintech, cloud computing, and digital economies.

Right now, Africa runs on digital platforms… …but the backbone is mostly outside Africa.

We use it. We pay for it. We depend on it.

But we don’t control it.

That’s the gap.

And Dangote entering this space means one thing: Someone is finally thinking about digital sovereignty at scale.

If he goes in the same way he entered cement or refinery, then we’re not talking about small plays.

We’re talking about:

Hyperscale data centres

Local hosting for fintech and banks

Infrastructure for AI growth

Thousands of high-value tech jobs

This is how ecosystems shift.

Because real power is not just in building apps…

It’s in owning the infrastructure those apps run on.

So this is not just “Dangote entering tech.”

This is: The man who helped build Africa’s physical backbone
…now positioning for its digital backbone.

And if you understand his pattern…

You’ll know this is not the beginning of a trend.

It’s the beginning of dominance.

Troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation Whirl Stroke, have arrested two herders accused of trespassing on community farmlands and destroying crops during a routine harvest-season patrol in Makurdi, Benue State.

The incident occurred on November 20, 2025, when troops deployed at Zongo Akiki intercepted the herders after they allegedly led their cattle into cultivated farmlands belonging to local residents.

In a statement signed on Tuesday, the spokesperson for the operation, Lieutenant Ahmad Zubairu, said, “In a sustained effort to protect farmers and guarantee food security during the peak of the harvest season, troops of Operation Whirl Stroke have arrested two herders who were found trespassing and destroying crops on a community farmland in Makurdi, Benue State.

“The vigilant troops intercepted the two herders after they reportedly led their cattle into cultivated farmlands belonging to local residents, resulting in damage to crops.

Second step: declare anyone found in any forest in Nigeria as "Enemy of the State" once he/she doesn't have the permit to be there hence should be shot at sight.
