It's been a year since I was diagnosed with #HIV. Being #PLHIV during my first year was not easy. But Thanks to all Bloodsibs out there for your constant support and guidance, and for addressing all my inquiries.
Our battle against AIDS/HIV this year was a good one.

Hey sibs, I still get inquiries about my 2nd SSS disability claim and most of the FAQs are the same. I hope this info helps you.
I'm unsure if it applies to other branches as this pertains to the SSS Marikina branch.

HIV positive and moving abroad.
If you are HIV positive and you are relocating abroad. It’s best to check that the country you are going to have good access to HIV services and they have a good non discrimination policies and attitudes. In most parts of the world HIV treatment is free but some countries discriminate especially in the Middle East and Asia. Most Western European and North America nations have good access but please check local information.
If you are coming to the U.K. HIV treatment in the U.K. is free and accessible to all people regardless of immigration status. You will need your postcode to find the nearest HIV clinic and you can make an appointment to begin the process. You will be registered and a series of blood test will be done, once your results are completed within a few days you will be placed on medication.
I often advise people to carry between 2 weeks and up to 3 months worth of HIV medication from their home country in case of difficulties accessing the clinics.
Let me reassure you, U.K. has a good record of meeting the treatment needs of people living with HIV.
In the U.K. you are not alone, there are HIV peer supports in many locations and you can find one that is most suitable for you, for example if you are a person of faith, if you are MSM, Black African, etc.
