Bugün, MİLGEM’in babası, Cumhuriyet Donanmasının millîleşme ve nitelik sıçramasının baş mimarı, 20. Deniz Kuvvetleri Komutanı Oramiral Özden Örnek’in aramızdan ayrılışının 8.yıldönümü.

Amiral Örnek, Cumhuriyet Donanmasına kabiliyet ve vizyon kazandıran, Türk denizcileşmesinin itici gücüdür. Mavi Vatan’a adanmış bir irade, sarsılmaz bir duruş, seçkin bir liderlik örneğiydi. Dürüstlüğü, tevazusu ve stratejik bakışıyla yalnız bir komutan değil, aynı zamanda müstesna bir devlet adamıydı.

Türk deniz gücünü yerli imkânlarla Mavi Vatan’ın ötesine taşıma kararlılığının bedelini, 2007 sonrası FETÖ ve işbirlikçilerinin kurduğu kumpaslarla, 3,5 yıl özgürlüğünden mahrum bırakılarak ve ardından yakalandığı amansız hastalıkla ödedi. Fakat mirası dimdik ayaktadır.

MİLGEM’in Ada sınıfı korvetleri ve İstif sınıfının ilk gemisi TCG İstanbul bugün görevdedir. İsmini verdiği ve projelerini başlattığı Atmaca füzeleri ve Akya torpidoları suüstü gemilerimiz ile denizaltılarımızda görev başındadır.

Amiral Örnek Atatürk’ün “Denizcilik Türk’ün büyük ülküsü olmalıdır” direktifinin kararlı uygulayıcısıydı.

Bugün fiziken aramızda değil; ancak düşünceleri, eserleri ve mirasıyla yaşamaya devam ediyor.

Başta Amiral Özden Örnek olmak üzere, kumpas süreçlerinde ağır bedeller ödeyen tüm denizcilerimizi rahmetle anıyor, aziz hatıraları önünde saygıyla eğiliyorum.

Onun adı yalnızca Cumhuriyet Donanmasının değil, bin yıllık Türk denizcilik tarihinin şeref hanesine yazılmıştır. Çünkü Mavi Vatan, uğruna bedel ödeyen evlatlarını asla unutmaz.
