I think a lot of fans underestimate how popular Azula would've been within the Fire Nation.

She was the crown princess, a military prodigy, and everything the fire nation had been taught to admire, meanwhile, Zuko spent years as a banished prince and ultimately sided with the Avatar against his own nation.

From the average Fire Nation citizen's perspective, Azula being removed from power could've looked like an injustice, while Zuko's reign probably would've faced a lot more resistance than fans like to admit.

In the 2010’s, women complained all the time about “unrealistic standards of female beauty” (being skinny), but they also stayed skinnier!
