#WorldRedCrossRedCrescent Day
The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement celebrates more than 160 years of humanitarian action locally and globally. We remain committed to providing relevant and timely humanitarian service to communities now and into the future.
This includes advocating for the respect of IHL and ensuring that those affected by conflict and disaster receive the protection and assistance they need.
Lest we forget, Pakistan was battered by massive flooding that commenced in late June and continued until August. The exceptionally heavy rainfall led to widespread flooding, landslides, and significant loss of life and property across multiple provinces.
The @ifrc has stepped up to support @Prc_official by launching an emergency appeal to assist 225,000 individuals. Relief distribution has commenced; our teams are on the ground, engaging with affected communities.
However, the needs remain immense, and there is a concern that this disaster may go unnoticed. We kindly urge for your assistance.
