A violent dispute fueled by past enmity turned fatal on the night of 19.06.2022, when Md. Washim @ Gola repeatedly stabbed a man in front of 50, G.J. Khan Road under Tiljala Police Station. The victim sustained multiple grievous injuries and, despite receiving medical treatment, succumbed to them.

The accused was swiftly arrested, and a meticulous investigation by SI Rajib Mondal of Tiljala Police Station meticulously pieced together the evidence, leaving no room for doubt. The Hon'ble Court found Md. Washim @ Gola guilty under Section 302 IPC and sentenced him to life imprisonment, along with a fine of ₹5,000.

A relentless investigation ensured that a brutal act of violence was met with the full force of justice.

As part of the campaign leading up to International Yoga Day 2026, a special yoga session for Kolkata Police personnel was held today at the Police Athletic Club Grounds. Commissioner of Police, Kolkata, Shri Ajay Nand, IPS, Addl. CP (III), Shri Pandey Santosh, IPS, and other senior officers participated in the session, reaffirming the force's commitment to health and wellness.

Today's initiative aimed at instilling the ethos and practice of yoga among the personnel of Kolkata Police was further elevated by the esteemed presence of the Ld. Commissioner of Police. Acting on specific information, Kolkata Police arrested Satyabrata Basu Roy (28), resident of Niranjan Pally, Kolkata, under the jurisdiction of Bansdroni Police Station.

During the operation, two improvised country-made semi-automatic firearms along with four live cartridges were recovered and seized from his exclusive possession.

In this connection a specific case has been registered under Arms Act at Bansdroni PS. Further investigation is being carried on.

In a major success against Left Wing Extremism, STF Kolkata Police, apprehended yesterday Sraddha Biswas @ Bela @ Asha @ Dipa @ Panchami @ Sandhya (55), a Regional Committee Member of the banned CPI(Maoist), carrying a reward of ₹15 lakh, declared by the Jharkhand Government. She is wanted in about 23 cases registered in Jharkhand.
In another significant development, CPI(Maoist) Zonal Committee Member Madhai Patra @ Samar Da @ Subhas @ Sujoy (53) surrendered before Shri Ajay Nand, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Kolkata after renouncing the path of violent extremism following nearly three decades of armed struggle. He also appealed to his fellow cadres to renounce violence and to return to the mainstream for a better future.

একটি সংক্ষিপ্ত ভিডিওতে, প্রতারিত ব্যক্তি তার ভয়াবহ অভিজ্ঞতার কথা শেয়ার করেছেন—কিভাবে প্রতারণাটি ঘটেছিল তা তুলে ধরেছেন এবং সাইবার সতর্কতার প্রয়োজনীয়তার ওপর জোর দিয়েছেন।

এখন পর্যন্ত ৬ জন অভিযুক্তকে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়েছে। তদন্ত চলছে।
