If we’re actually being honest, David Raya deserves to be above some of these names on the Ballon d’Or 30-man shortlist.

Marc Cucurella, Luis Díaz, Bruno Fernandes, Lamine Yamal, Sadio Mané, Lautaro Martínez, Messi, Olise, J. Quiñones, Fabián Ruiz, F. Torres, Upamecano and even Vinícius Jr.

Raya has a legitimate argument over several of them based on his performances and impact.
So what is it? Is Raya being overlooked simply because he’s a goalkeeper? 🧤
Because if the award is truly about the best individual performers, his name should be in that conversation.
