The significance of this conversation extends beyond the growing availability of data or the rapid advancement of AI.

For Africa, a more fundamental question is emerging: do we have the talent, research capacity, institutions, and innovation ecosystems required to convert these advances into economic and social value at scale?

This is where DSN’s work intersects with the conversation.

Over the past decade, we have worked across the AI value chain to develop technical talent, advance applied research, strengthen communities of practice, and build partnerships that move knowledge toward real-world application.

Inclusive growth requires more than access to increasingly powerful technologies.

It requires countries to develop the local capability to understand them, build with them, govern their application, and deploy them against problems that matter.

For Africa, this means moving deliberately from technology adoption to capability ownership, building the people, knowledge, and ecosystems that enable the continent to participate more meaningfully in the value AI creates.

The next chapter of inclusive growth will not be defined only by who has access to AI, but by who has the capacity to create value with it.

At DSN, building that capacity for Africa remains central to the work.
