عمران خان جس روز وزیراعظم بنا تو عمران خان نے دھاندلی کے الزامات پر اپوزیشن کو دعوت دی کہ وہ اگر دھاندلی پر کمیشن بنوانا چاہتے ہیں ��و تحریک انصاف تیار ہے۔ اگر کوئی حلقہ تحقیقات کے لیے کھولنا چاہتے ہیں تو تحریک انصاف تیار ہے۔ اسکے بعد اپوزیشن نے کبھی بھی کسی کمیشن یا کسی حلقہ جاتی تحقیقات کا مطالبہ نہیں کیا۔ یہ بھی نوٹ کرنے والی بات ہے کہ 2013 کے انتخابات کے بعد اسی طرح کی کمیشن کے قیام کے لیے تحریک انصاف نے 126 دن دھرنا دیا لیکن ن لیگ نے کمیشن نہیں بنایا۔ تین سال تک تحریک انصاف صرف چار حلقوں میں تحقیقات کا مطالبہ کرتی رہی لیکن نواز شریف کو تحقیقات کی جرات نا ہوئی۔ ایک اور قابل ذکر بات یہ ہے کہ 2018 میں تحریک انصاف کی دھاندلی پیٹیشنز کی تعداد کسی بھی دوسری جماعت سے زیادہ تھیں۔ ن لیگ کے خواجہ آصف نے الیکشن کی رات جنرل باجوہ سے مدد مانگنے کا اعتراف ٹی وی پر کیا۔ تحریک بائیس ، سو ، پانچ سو ، ہزار اور بارہ سو ووٹس کے مارجن سے بھی کئی نشستیں ہاری لیکن نا کوئی جعلی فارم سینتالیس بنا نا ضرورت سے زیادہ ووٹ مستر�� کرکے اپنا امیدوار جتوایا گیا۔

🚨🚨Bushra Bibi’s family agreed not to publicly discuss details of their meetings with her, nor politicise them, on the understanding that they would be granted regular access. However, it has now been four weeks since they were last allowed to see her.
During their last meeting, the family were deeply distressed by her condition and cried for days afterwards. They described significant weight loss and serious eye-health concerns. One of her eyes is stitched closed, while the sight in the other is deteriorating. They also stated that there have been serious delays in receiving medical attention and that prison conditions, as well as the treatment of certain staff members—particularly a woman named MARIAM—have contributed to her mental suffering. A gutter outside her cell is deliberately kept open, making her cell unbearable and infested with insects.
Bushra Bibi has also reportedly said that Imran Khan’s conditions are similarly concerning and that he continues to suffer from ongoing eye and health problems. According to her, he refuses to complain because of the man that he is.
Regardless of political views, all detainees are entitled to proper medical care, humane treatment, and regular access to their families. This is a serious violation of basic human dignity and internationally recognised human rights standards. This situation requires urgent attention, transparency, and accountability.

Poverty in Pakistan today is higher than in a decade. Unemployment is higher than in 2 decades. Share of investment over the last three years is lower than in 6 decades. Inflation in the last 4 years has been higher than even in our history. Also the first time we have not even crossed 4% GDP growth in 4 years and first time that after four years per capita income is lower than before. This is the record of the last four years of Mian Shehbaz Sharif’s government.

This budget makes some corrections from the Dar budget of 23/24 like putting surcharge on salary income or putting super tax on all companies including exporters. But the highest bracket on salary is still 35% and because of inflation-induced salary increase people are still paying a lot more. Salaried class paid Rs 600 bn this year and after a “relief” of Rs 50 bn will pay Rs 700 bn next year. Super tax on 8% still remains.

Does this budget change our government priorities? Will it bring about growth? Will it bring more investment? Will it reduce unemployment or poverty? As a Pakistani I hope very much that happens. But as an economist, I don’t think this budget is what was needed at this time and will not bring about improvement in our economy.

What we have painfully learned from the past is that just as PPP and development in Sindh are incompatible, similarly Mian Shehbaz Sharif’s statist economic vision and economic growth are incompatible.
