A special Easter message from Major Todd Mason at The Salvation Army National Capital Area Command: Wishing you peace, hope, and joy this Easter season.
Happy Easter! 🐣
❤️ Sometimes, it’s the little signs that remind us why we serve. At our Prince William Service Center’s monthly food distribution, volunteers and staff knew it would be a special day from the very start, when the first potato unpacked was shaped like a heart.
Our Women’s Auxiliary came together to create Easter baskets for the children at our Turning Point Center for Women and Children.
These baskets are more than just gifts; they help create cherished memories and meaningful traditions for the families we serve. 💛🐣✨
Spring in Washington, D.C. means cherry blossom season! 🌸 But our region has so much more to offer!

Students and instructors from Kentucky Wesleyan College spent a chilly evening serving alongside us on Grate Patrol - bringing warmth, compassion, and hope to our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

#ThrowbackThursday ✨
Only 295 days until Christmas… but who’s counting? 😉🎄
Throwing it back to some holiday joy at our Turning Point Center for Women & Children.
🍎🥦 Every fourth Thursday, our Prince William Service Center hosts a fresh fruit & vegetable giveaway. his month, 119 families received produce to enjoy a meal they didn’t have to go without.
For many of our neighbors, no one has ever had someone sit beside them and talk through budgeting or financial goals. That’s why our Pathway of Hope program offers Financial Literacy Classes that build confidence and create lasting stability.
🍎 For families facing tough choices, our food assistance programs, pantries, and fresh produce giveaways mean they can enjoy a meal without worry.
It’s nourishment, comfort, and a little peace of mind in every bite.
When life changes suddenly, stability can feel out of reach. After losing her husband, one woman shared that her mortgage & monthly bills had slowly become unmanageable. Our team listened, worked with her, offered ideas and solutions.
Today, she’s found stability.
Your support helps ensure that neighbors in need can pay rent and utilities, keeping a roof over their heads, especially during these colder months.
🏡Every gift helps families stay safe, warm, and in their homes. https://t.co/h0bezJ44tx
🌹 Roses are red, violets are blue,
we couldn’t do this work without a community like YOU.
Thank you for showing love to our neighbors all year long.
Happy Valentine’s Day from The Salvation Army National Capital Area Command! ❤️
This is the impact of YOUR generosity.
After reaching out three years ago while experiencing homelessness, this Southern Maryland neighbor worked with our dedicated Officers and Staff, was connected to income-based housing and support services, and today, he’s doing great.
