A shocking case from Chandigarh.

Suresh Kumar of Chandigarh Police was promoted as an Inspector just a few days ago. He was posted as the in-charge of Sector 26 Police Post. A jewellery shop in the area was burgled and when the shop owner went to register an FIR the case IO Bhagat Singh asked him to meet Suresh Kumar.

According to the CBI FIR Suresh Kumar demanded a ₹5 lakh bribe to register the FIR. Not only that he also demanded 20% of the value of the recovered stolen jewellery. ₹2.5 lakh was to be paid before the FIR was registered and the remaining ₹2.5 lakh after it was registered.

Just look at the state of Chandigarh Police.

With what hope will ordinary people approach them? How will they deliver justice to the public?
