Provoking session -Diversity in the profession panel at #CILIPConf19 Great lineup. Frustrating we still need to discuss this after 30 years when I first entered into this debate within the profession. @DeweyDecibelle@ThomasPeachLib@libbrynolf @InfoPro_Tasha @heenakaravadra
@libbrynolf@DeweyDecibelle @InfoPro_Tasha @heenakaravadra @ThomasPeachLib Thank you so much all of you for being vulnerable and sharing stories which, as was said, can be incredibly hard to share
Q: How do we challenge the reverence we pay to figures like Melvil Dewey? A: teach students to be CRITICAL. This has been a part of my MA @UCLDIS - shout out to @AnneWelsh who constantly taught us to question inherent bias during Cat & Class. #CILIPConf19@DeweyDecibelle
