We can't stop deforestation without the experts: Indigenous people. 💚
At #COP30, the UK govt has a chance to champion their rights, funding and legal protection.
Tell the UK climate minister: back the forest defenders. Sign our open letter. https://t.co/peMa3vq4u2
Looking at my emails today: two messages from teachers in schools where the students and staff are being terrorised and assaulted by very small groups of highly challenging children; in both cases the behaviour policy leans hard into restorative approaches, and in both cases the culture is chaotic and unbearable. Hospitalisations, endlessly disrupted lessons, teachers’ whole days devoted to containing a minority of students.
This is the fruit of an approach that centres well-meant therapeutic strategies, replacing boundaries and consequences, rather than augmenting them. The people who decide this are the ones who will never have to face the consequences of their policies. But they get to feel virtuous.
And no one is interested in these schools. The only ones that the crusading journalists can see are the ones trying to keep children safe.
Interesting situation - if the probability remains this high then we will have to make a decision on preparing a deflection mission - which would be a good investment even if (as is most likely) we don’t need to use it this time. It’s as if the Universe has decided to do an experiment to see if Planet Earth is still capable of taking rational decisions!
Thank you so much for all of your calls to @lbc , particularly for those who told your stories about bullying in the workplace
I extended that to two hours instead of one as the phone lines were full and overflowing for two hours on the subject
Thank you ❤️❤️
