@DVLAgovuk just to point out his paper version is completely accurate-same address/name. Was considering also getting an International drivers permit from post office. So guessing that his paper licence is valid till he is 70 it should be ok to drive in France?

@DVLAgovuk my husband has done a renewal for his photo card. We are due to travel to France on the 25th August. He still has his original paper licence which was issued before 2000. If his new photo card doesn’t arrive in time can he still use the paper version?
