I’ve decided that I like working 2 hours a day and hunting and hiking with my daughter about 6.

We just had one of the scariest experiences of our lives. A very high tide & 60-70 mph wind brought the raging ocean literally to our doorstep. Waves were breaking against the porch & our entire property is under 2-5 feet of water. The tide is going out so we’re in the clear.

3:12am—just finished what was most likely the last day of filleting salmon for the season. Burn out gained new meaning toward the end. But I feel like a million bucks right now.

Last night a bear put his paws against the cabin and shook us awake. I shot a firecracker shell at him. He won’t be back.

Went to wash my totes in the dark and saw 6 brown bears on the beach in the 3 minute wheeler drive to the cannery.

Last night a bear chewed through the water outflow from my fillet cabin. Tapped right into the salmon juice pipeline!

Had quite the bear experience last night. Bear in camp. Tried to pepper spray at 15 feet. Sprayed myself. Nose and eye agony. Then put elec bear fence around fish totes and shocked myself with 7,000 volts. Another day at Fishcamp.
