Due to the fact that VCVNTS does not have a vetting process, our mission statement matters even more. If bad apples make their way into the Discord or someone starts shit talking other creators, stirring up drama, harassing people or doing things we consider unethical & against what this community stands for - they will be removed and blocked.

We have said from the beginning that open membership does not mean consequence free membership. Every community deals with people who come in & act poorly. VCVNTS is no different.

You act like a jerk in a shared space? You’re gone. No apology, public trial, obligation to explain every moderation decision to the internet & no google doc. Being an outcast or a misfit is one thing but being cruel, bullying other creators or behaving in a way that gets you removed from shared spaces is totally different.

VCVNTS was made for people who feel like they don’t fit in - not for people who make others feel unwelcome.

I didn’t expect less than that from a group of people with social anxiety, mental illness, depression, chronic illness & brain worms. We all have our moments of insecurity, anxiety or being overwhelmed & overstimulated. Imposter syndrome & inferiority complexes can be a hell of a drug. A little VCVNTS clarification because apparently “everyone is welcome” needs a footnote. When we say everyone is welcome, we mean you do NOT have to audition, fill out an application, have a certain follower count, know the right people or meet some imaginary popularity threshold to sit at our table. We are free to remove your access to VCVNTS anytime we see fit.

It does NOT mean you can act like a complete jerk & expect zero consequences. We have a code of conduct, discord rules & community boundaries. If you bring ongoing drama to our doorstep, harass people, repeatedly create problems, break our rules or behave in a way that goes against what this community stands for & our mission statement - we can revoke your membership. And no, we do not owe the internet a drama circus, a 12-page google doc or an apology every time we make that decision.

VCVNTS is open but it is not lawless. You don't have to prove your clout to get in, but you DO have to be responsible & held accountable for how you behave once you’re here. Everyone is welcome to be a cvnt but you are not welcome to be an asshole.

VTUBERS WHO USE AI ART - Not allowed.

VTUBERS WHO ASSOCIATE WITH COMPANIES THAT USE AI - I won’t police that but give the company the stink eye ☹️

There is a difference between personally choosing to generate and use AI art as part of your own content/branding and being affiliated with, sponsored by or purchasing from a company that uses AI somewhere within its business.

I strongly dislike companies choosing to use AI art too, but if I tried to enforce guilt by association, I would spend all my time investigating every company every VCVNT works with or buys from. I’d sadly have to throw away all my Lovense stuff *which I need for work* because they use AI too - which I hate.

VCVNTS can reasonably say, “Do not personally use AI-generated artwork under our branding.” What I cannot reasonably say is, “You can never associate with any company that has ever used AI.” That is all I’d be doing & while I don’t agree with AI generated art and I support artist - I’m not here to nitpick every life choice of our members.

One is your direct creative choice. The other is a company’s choice that you do cannot control. I’m setting standards for what our members themselves do - not attempting to ethically audit everyone they interact with.

Empress had good intentions and I’m glad that they brought this up so that I personally know who to stay away from and let people know who didn’t. I appreciate them letting us know ♥️
