@ssarahwilt I also liked standpoint theory. I feel the knowledge and skills from it and gender theory are necessary for comm specialist to know in order to facilitate effective communication with everyone.
Semiotics Is my favorite theory we studied this semester. I like how easy it is to apply to real life and that it is something anybody can pick up and use in their arsenal of communication tools to define their reality. #COMM2870
Come check out The Comm Theory Variety Show. This week Callie, Sarah, Sarah, Trent, and I will be discussing The Functional Perspective on Group Decision Making. Will there be dinosaurs? Maybe....come find out later this week! #COMM2870#Dinosaurs2020
@momo587619 Lmao. I once told a stranger to "drive safe" instead of "have a safe drive", and they said ok dad. This gif accurately describes how I felt. #COMM2870
@malikaaslm Interesting culture shift, coming from the US I would certainly be taken aback if somebody kissed me on the way in or out of a social encounter. #COMM2870
Sometimes it is necessary to slow down the speed of speech or increase inflection in order to accommodate the needs of people with hearing disabilities or those new to a language. #COMM2870

Really?! How many times do the people of toledo need to tell you no?
These systems which @ToledoCouncil keeps putting in place are unjust and have little to no scientific data supporting their efficacy when it comes to public safety.
I literally have nothing to share. I only use Twitter for this class and have nothing of value to add to the social sphere nor do I have any cool stories. next week is my birthday ill probably talk about that then, but until then here is an unrelated gif. #COMM2870#wildcard
@Madison47362222 Yeah, this ad screams you can be like this cool person if you consume the same beverage as him. this promotes aspiration buying by consumers who took the bait and want to be interesting or whatever.
@Samanth58431582 I know people who act like you are explaining. By my home, there is a man who has like 10+ signs in their yard that are a bit inflammatory and express hatred towards individuals, unlike him and organizations he deems "bad," his display just screams F you at passersby.
Honda is good at this, they sell the idea of safety and investment in quality engineering. Like any ad, there is, of course, "own this = you happy" type of narrative sold as well. ads that depict lifestyles are present too in more luxury brands that promote aspirational buying.
In certain car commercials, they sell the ideology that owning the car will help meet goals in family safety and satisfaction. I will not be providing a video, because SEO is ridiculous and all I can find is "the best car ads of all time" type videos. I hate it all. #COMM2870
