It was an honour to be invited to 'Mind the Gap' the 9th NHS Grampian Research Conference last week, just before I start my NRS Fellowship in November on post Infection conditions. Two days of cross disiplinary groundbreaking research ideas, led by Professor S.S. Vasan at the beautiful #ONEBioHub, then dinner peppered with inspirational mini-talks hosted by Lord Provost David Cameron at the Aberdeen Townhouse. The program included a consideration of the current 17 year GAP between having an idea and implementation (Prof. Nick Fluck), the use of AI in radiology by Dr. Gerald Lip, and recruiting care home residents into Vaccine trials in Scotland (Prof. Roy Soiza of the Watch Study), and gave me an opportuity to reach out for collaborations especially for Long COVID research.
Thank you to Dame Anna Dominiczak, Chief Scientist, Scotland, for coming to the event and meeting the new NRS Fellows.
A wonderful opportunity to connect, share insights, and hear from fellow researchers and colleagues driving innovation in health and science.

RAAC is a huge issue for many constituents in Tillicoultry. Many are living a life in limbo with nowhere to call home. I raised this issue in Parliament and am meeting with the residents & Clackmannanshire Council on Friday.
BREAKING: In a stunning new video at Trump’s rally tonight, you can see there are plenty of open seats at a tiny venue that doesn’t hold more than 2,500 people. This is remarkably embarrassing for Trump. Retweet so all Americans see this.
BREAKING: Kamala Harris has filled a stadium in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to the brim. This is a county that voted for Trump in 2020. Retweet so all Americans see this and know we’re not going back.
The most powerful, heartbreaking public awareness ad for Alzheimer’s is on our TVs just now. I suggest the bumbling Neil Gray watches it. The man’s a disgrace.

Despite receiving £97 million 7 years ago from the UK Government to replace dangerous Grenfell type cladding from buildings, the SNP has repaired only two buildings.
Two.
In England they have repaired over 800 buildings.
What have the SNP done with the money?
The UK has one of the highest retirement ages in the world, the lowest pension in Europe, some of the longest working hours in Europe, one of the lowest minimum wages, the highest energy costs, the biggest profits, and the lowest taxes for the richest.
It all needs to change.
Developers cannot be allowed to cut corners & put profits before people.
It’s not about learning lessons…we know that regulations keep people safe. It’s about taking action so people and communities get the housing they need and deserve.
All flammable cladding must go. Now.
Thanks to our Ambassador @oonagh_cousins and Founding Trustee @JoD66 for their hard work that went in to this paper. People can find it difficult to convey their #LongCovid symptoms and experiences in words. That’s where body mapping can really help.

Postal votes are arriving and it’s your chance for change by electing a @ScottishLabour MP that would have influence and be part of a Labour government in Westminster that will deliver for Alloa & Grangemouth, Scotland and the UK 🌹
#VoteScotLab24
Great to have @LordMcConnell campaigning in Grangemouth today where we heard people tell us they’re fed up with 2 governments that have ran out of ideas & that change is needed. Change that will see investment in people, communities & our NHS.
Vote for change on 4 July 🌹
Further education is vital in giving people the opportunity to create a career.
What’s happening to this sector is impoverishing students and closing off chances at improving their circumstances.
Shame on the SNP for destroying Scottish education.
We’ve had hundreds of conversations with residents from Larbert, Carron, Tullibody, Sauchie, Menstrie & Clackmannan these last 2 days. People are telling us it’s time for change on 4 July 🌹
It’s a 2 horse race in Alloa & Grangemouth…but today was about 1 Alpaca!
Cancer waits are 14 times worse than when the Conservatives came to power.
FOURTEEN times.
Please RT so everyone can be aware of what this Government has done to our NHS.
