🌌Gravitational-Wave Instrumentation Winter Workshop🌠
Embark on an in-depth, hands-on exploration of the science and technology behind gravitational-wave detection
There was a press announcement of an exceptional LVK discovery GW250114 by Rahul Kashyap. The event also included a fun GW Science games session and a public talk by Sanjeev Dhurandhar. The programme was attended by a large enthusiastic audience and was featured in news articles
There were also visits to LIGO-India labs at IUCAA. The event was attended by a large number of enthusiastic students and general audience. The event was a great success, and it was heartening to get requests from participants to organise more such events in future! 😊🎉
The panel discussion was moderated by Prof Subhadeep De (IUCAA), with panelists including Dr Anindita Banerjee(@cdacindia), Dr Sendhil Raja (RRCAT Indore) and Dr Deepak Pandey (IUCAA). Prof Sanjit Mitra (IUCAA) gave some closing remarks to end the session.
The next session had expert talks by Anil Shaji (@Phy_IISERTVM), Kanaka Raju Pandhiri (@diatpune) and Prof Anirban Pathak (@JaypeeUniversi2) on various aspects of Quantum Science and Technology.
We shed light on GW astronomy in the multi-messenger era, and the core of General Relativity in this exciting field. Career opportunities of LIGO-India and LIGO-India EPO activities were also highlighted.
From the mathematical intricacies of statistical analysis to groundbreaking insights on General Relativity, we’ve delved deep into the fabric of the cosmos. Knowledge on GW generation and detector tools, and hands-on techniques in detector characterization were provided
Exploring the universe, one wave at a time! ✨
Our recent workshop on #GravitationalWaves and LIGO-India @bitspilaniindia was conducted by some of the well-known researchers on general relativity and gravitational waves and experts from LIGO-India 🌌
