Heartbreak sucks.
Honestly, the only way to get over it is to go head on straight through it
If you try to repress it by rebounding…
you are only delaying your healing
You are going to be in that rebound relationship & wake up one day and BAM!
Ask yourself, WTH AM I DOING
Sometimes “low-maintenance” is just disappointment with good manners.
You stop asking people for things.
Not because you don’t need anything.
Because hearing “no” for the hundredth time feels worse than pretending you never wanted it.
So you become incredibly easy to deal with.
You accept the late replies.
The half-effort.
The friendships where you’re always the one reaching out.
The relationship that gives you 20% of what you wanted.
You even start calling yourself “chill.”
And people love this version of you.
Of course they do.
A person who expects nothing can never accuse anyone of giving too little.
But something terrifying happens when you practice disappointment long enough:
You stop knowing the difference between peace and surrender.
You think you’ve become emotionally strong because fewer things upset you.
Sometimes you’ve simply built your life so small that nothing has enough importance left to hurt.
That isn’t freedom.
Freedom is wanting something deeply while knowing you’ll survive if you don’t get it.
It’s asking.
Risking rejection.
Expecting effort.
Walking away when effort never arrives.
You don’t become peaceful by convincing yourself you need less from life.
Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is admit:
“Actually, this does matter to me.”
