I think a really big flaw in Muslim Da’wah is not acknowledging the allure to a free and liberal life and reducing it to only our desires. The idea that you can be your true self and love who you want to is compelling and sometimes suffering for faith is the way we have to live.

The state was Muslim while the people remained what they were but with clever statecraft there were worldly incentives the people were given that made them

Shargh is conflating Imperialism with Colonialism. For majority of Muslim history we did not have a colonization strategy like the British had. We can also 100% look back and say “that was bad we shouldn’t do that again” and still criticize the ones that were crueler than us.
