The Union Government of India used its entire ecosystem including police, media and social media followers to get 4 kids to post apology videos. A very impressive achievement.
IMPORTANT: A former colleague who has tracked the police for years sent this apt and very well written note on the July 20 violence . Pl read it carefully one and all (especially some of our top cops who still retain a commitment and integrity to the uniform)
Read here:
Full sympathies with families and children of cops as no one should be made to see the suffering of their loved ones. But this isn’t an argument about whether the protesters did this or not. The idea of parading the families of injured Delhi Police officers is a dishonourable attempt to create an emotional counter-narrative and is more aimed at deflecting systemic accountability for use of force by the state and hence shifts the focus from institutional actions to individual suffering.
Comparing state-backed police force's injuries with injured students ends up creating a false moral equivalence, because the police hold state authority and crowd-control tools. Remember, violence is always a state monopoly in legal terms. Their attempts distract everyone from the core issue - of police misconduct and disproportionate use of force. In this battle of my emotion versus your emotion, the larger picture should never be lost in any civilised society.🙏
“The movement will not stop until the jailed protesters are released.”
AISA President Neha Bora says she will be in Patna tomorrow to meet those jailed protestors, and calls on everyone to join her.
This is what true leadership looks like.
I have been watching this man's videos, I am so glad he was at the protest and added his voice. He may not have much but he is more educated than our P M. Breaks my heart these people not only deal with poverty but also discrimination. Being born poor in India is a crime. 💔💔💔
This young man is an uncut diamond that deserves a future.
The Cockroach Janata Party should enlist diamonds like him as members if they really want to go far with their movement and change India’s destiny.
If not, some rich NGO or a corporate CSR department should rehabilitate him by providing an interest-free loan and helping him set up a small business.
His name is Mohammad Irfan. He lives in a broken 12 sq yd 1-room slum (with tarpaulin roof) with his parents and two sisters in Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar.
For his livelihood, along with his father, he sells ice slabs as a roadside vendor.
He cannot write, he never went to school, and all his education is acquired by asking questions to Google several hours a day.
From the Preamble to the Indian Constitution (Hindi version) to Urdu Shayar Ahmed Faraz and Kavi Gopal Das Neeraj’s poetry to legal rights of workers and minimum wage & hour laws in India, his knowledge is 10x more than the average brainwashed WhatsApp University uncles of India.
In the video, Irfan emphasizes on “garima” (dignity). The Preamble to the Constitution explicitly states: “assuring the dignity of the individual,” irrespective of their caste, religion, education, or economic status.
Irfan was discovered by The Lallantop’s brilliant journalist Rajat Pandey @RajatpandeyJF during recent student protests at Jantar Mantar. That’s real journalism India needs instead of the shameless mainstream media that is digging India’s grave.
Rajat can provide the phone number and address of Irfan to anyone interested in supporting him.

VIDEO | Delhi: After meeting Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi, AISA president Neha Bora says, “I think the discussion we had today with Rahul Gandhi sir was most fruitful. Discussions like these, about the country's education system, hardly ever take place. There is no meaningful discussion on education. There is no discussion on how the entire education system has been taken over in such a way that the education, learning, and curiosity of young, promising minds are being destroyed. We had a wonderful discussion on this issue. Another concern that we shared with sir was that there was a call for a Bihar Bandh today. Before the bandh, yesterday, a large number of student activists were arrested by the Bihar Police…The three demands that sir has put forward here truly represent the demands of the youth and students of this country."
She added, "There can be no step back on the demand for Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation. No change of ministry will be acceptable. No bill against paper leaks is going to satisfy the demand that Dharmendra Pradhan must resign. There must also be accountability for the violence that took place on the 20th. The Commissioner of Police and the Home Minister must also be held accountable. There can be no compromise or adjustment on this issue.”

As police has started slapping the cases and detaining the students who are protesting against paper leak issue, Mumbai’s senior advocate Satish Mane Shinde has decided to provide legal assistance to these students at free of cost — pro bono. @NewIndianXpress
Real face of Delhi Police
That student first joined hands, then began to take the hits. When Delhi policeman realised that body hits are not working, he hit him right in the face with the rod.
Guy dropped unconscious the very next moment. MP Renuka Chowdhury and others came for his rescue.
And CJI doesn’t have time for this
This video was recorded yesterday evening inside a major government hospital in Delhi. Injured students had come there for medical treatment, and the police followed them into the hospital, intent on assaulting them. The doctors had to shut the gates.
Listen carefully to this 25-second video. What kind of barbarity has our country descended into?
I have seen videos of lathis with nails on them. Of plain-clothed men wielding lathis and mercilessly beating up students. Of name tags missing on cops.
The point is, this is a protest by young people. They don’t need the media to document their protest for them. There are thousands of videos floating around that showed what unfolded.
Perhaps something the govt didn’t account for
The sheer innocence. If Dharmendra Pradhan is watching- he will give up politics!! As for the paid haters spewing venom- do these look like anti nationals or kids worried about their future in India! 🇮🇳 ‘Where the mind is without fear … into the heaven of freedom… let my country awake’
