#B329LeadershipChallenge My team used a blog post to explain the #wickedchallenge of Diversity in Business including an interesting approach CEO's can act on. This highlighted the importance of storytelling for leaders and directing your message to the right people.
Wk 18 - creating a clear and concise call to action for the #B329LeadershipChallenge was helped by using the storytelling techniques from Wk 17, 4 practises of persuasive writing, and Who/What/Why/When structure. #OUB329@B329Leadership
Wk 17 - Social change, leadership and storytelling. These topics have enabled me to reflect on my leadership capabilities in these areas, and critically reflect on how my team used these in the #B329LeadershipChallenge for my EMA response @B329Leadership#OUB329
Wk 16 - so activist leadership is definitely heavy on the academic front! Key points I'm coming away with 1) purpose can provide leadership (not just people etc.) 2) power of purpose can be analysed through empty/universal signifiers 3) conflict is useful #OUB329@B329Leadership
Wk 15, linking power & resistance this week prompted me to consider when I've seen 'management bingo' before. Resistance is actually an opportunity for leaders - through listening positive change can occur - certainly something I will take forward. @B329Leadership#OUB329
Wk 14, Looked at Place Based Leadership & different challenges leaders face (tame, wicked, critical). Took the opportunity to explore a wicked one in #B329LeadershipChallenge and harnessed the power of collaboration to identify a strong call to action.#OUB329@B329Leadership
@MaciejBudkowski @goodreads Absolutely! It will also provide a good opportunity for applicants to check out your reads if they haven't already. And 'what book has had the most impact on you personally or your career and why?' as an interview question would be v. informative. Reading is a necessity IMO.
TMA 02 is done and submitted! Of course, from now on when I meet anyone called Susan this assignment is what will come to mind first. Roll on the post-tma catch up pressure! #OUB329@B329Leadership@Andi_Roberts
"When Iโm sometimes asked when will there be enough women on the supreme court? And I say โWhen there are nine.โ People are shocked. But thereโd been nine men, and nobodyโs ever raised a question about that." RBG ๐
#OUB329 Wk 12 - diving into positive-sum leadership and the assumptions/complexities to get there has been thought provoking such as understanding the importance of focus on approach and management of collaborations + external influences (competitors/org aims etc.)
@Andi_Roberts@B329Leadership Yes agree with you about the complexity. However the video in wk 11 shows him talking over someone else whilst trying to disrupt the normal way of thinking. Surely itโs just basic manners to not do that, especially if someone is trying to lead/facilitate a positive outcome?
#OUB329, wk 11. So I donโt think that Gerry Robinson can โfix the NHSโ by not listening and talking over a stakeholder who was explaining her opinion at the table. And of course, she was female! TV or no TV this behaviour was not necessary. @B329Leadership@Andi_Roberts
#OUB329, wk 11 the importance of conflict, its benefits and best practise of execution by leaders. How these are interwoven and conflict can produce better more innovative solutions than without it...if itโs done right. @B329Leadership
#OUB329 Wk 10 .... welcome to the new world ๐ of leadership as part of network societies and not just leadership for leaders only. I will be noting this info to take a closer look at how I operate within my place of work to positively influence and be influenced by others.
Wk 9 of #OUB329 enjoyed getting to know more about the importance of collaboration and leadership (once it can be defined!) by utilising a teams intelligence to deliver results.
