7.5 years in, it's hard to see a player leave a team and city he's meant to so much to. The Hawks and Young didn't win a title, but you don't have to do that to cement a legacy. Things run their course, especially in sports, but it's still sad to see a special player who meant a lot to Atlanta and Hawks moving on.

Auburn University student Gabe Puthoff was born with a disability called spinal bifida, a birth defect where an area of the spinal column doesn’t form properly — but that never stopped him from playing sports.

Both his parents and his older brother played sports, so Gabe wanted to get in on the action too.

Eventually, he got to Auburn where he played wheelchair tennis and wheelchair basketball, and last week, he represented Auburn in the wheelchair tennis national championship — taking down Alabama in the Final Four to get there.
