Steven Spielberg finally talked about Hook (1991) without dismissing it or calling it his least favorite film, which is such a relief for fans of this masterpiece who've waited decades for him to change his mind or at least acknowledge that we exist!
Nothing better than a summer Spielberg movie night in a packed theater with friends!
Steven thank you for all of the hours of joy that you have given us in the cinema!! It has been a great honor and pleasure to have worked with you and to call you my friend.
Congratulations to my dear friend Emily and the entire group of artists that created this movie. You were superb.
We all loved Disclosure Day!!
Brian Cox turned 80 a few days ago, the timing of which nearly collides with the 8 year anniversary of the day Succession premiered. This is a show of a lifetime. Cox…he gives the performance of his career in this show, and he’s had an amazing fucking career. Long Live the Roys
Here's a clean version of the Live & Kicking theme (no sound effects!) overlayed on the best version of the titles we have (with the original Television Centre logo).
The credits version was a little longer, and that will follow later...

When she pushes the button and all the switches light up is one of the best pieces of that John Williams score too. Man I need to rewatch Jurassic Park soon.
The “Marcus Brody cut” in Indiana Jones is a masterclass in comedic editing. It works flawlessly because Spielberg isn’t just subverting the scene, he's weaponising our own knowledge of his filmmaking style against us.
Happy heavenly birthday, Denholm Elliott

Clickbait. Everybody got their autograph and selfie, the passage to the hotel was kept free for guests, and I still got to the airport on time. One man, no security. Handled. What’s your problem ?
The biggest story that's flying under the radar this week? Chris Carter's brand new Director's Cut of THE X-FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE, representing the scarier version of the 2008 movie he had originally wanted to make, is coming to Disney+: https://t.co/8vz22CenGy
Superintendent Andrews is a boss-level doubter. The suits in the WY boardroom have absolutely nothing on him. Not only does he disbelieve Ripley but he’s an unapologetic prick about it. This scene makes you want to wring your fists in frustration.
The 35MM scan of Jurassic Park (1993) looks absolutely glorious. The grain, lighting, and practical effects texture make the whole film feel even more alive.
