Sad to end my #startupmarketing course with @DrVeresiu today, but feeling like I learned so much I didn't know before! It was so inspiring to hear tips and inspiring stories from actual entrepreneurs, and I now know how to use twitter! #startupsummer21
Our final marketing strategy for our #startup Duckling:
๐ฑ Social Media - Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn
๐โ - Calling & Emailing
๐ฅ๐ฑ - Website & SEO/Search Engine Marketing
We chose a mix of traditional and online methods to connect with restaurant owners!

So happy to share that I am #GoogleDigitalGarage certified!! This program taught me so much about digital marketing, but my favourite part was diving into #analytics ๐ #startupsummer21
Overall, email marketing is a great way for startups to cost-efficiently build their brand & connect with customers! Or at least, it is when used correctly ๐ I hope you were able to learn alongside me today! (7/7) #startupsummer21
But how do we know what is causing a higher open rate or clickthrough rate? Pure #analytics won't give you the answer, but A/B testing might! Create two versions of one email marketing campaign with different subjects & images, and see what works best! (6/?) #startupsummer21
Curious about what content resonates with customers and driving results for your startup? Take a look at your #analytics - open rate will tell you which messages are being opened the most, & clickthrough rate will reveal which links are being clicked on! (5/?) #startupsummer21
You've got mail! โ Are you most likely to open an email with a subject line that's 1๏ธโฃ short & snappy, asks you a question, and has your name in it OR 2๏ธโฃ has tons of emojis, exclamation marks, and doesn't tell you what's inside? I'd go with option 1๏ธโฃ! (4/?) #startupsummer21
Dear Valued Customer: instead of generic openings, create a #connection between your startup and your customer by using an email marketing service to easily personalize email greetings! Now, if only they could also write the whole email for you...๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ (3/?) #startupsummer21
Email marketing is powerful. Not only can it help your startup to share news about products and promotions, but you can also send tailored content to customers based on their interests! This means that customers will #value what is coming into their inbox ๐๐ป (2/?)#startupsummer21
Have you ever unsubscribed from an automated email list? Iโm currently completing my google #digitalmarketingfundamentals certificate, and Iโm going to share with you the benefits that engaging email marketing can bring to your startup, when used properly! (1/?) #startupsummer21
Since startups usually have limited time and resources and can't afford super advanced market research, sometimes gathering candid customer feedback can be as simple as picking up the phone and hearing what people have to say ๐โ (2/2) #startupsummer21
Our class had the privilege of hearing from Richa at @goodfoodforgood! She shared the importance of listening to customer feedback to develop your startup products. This is part of how her organic & refined sugar free sauces have become so successful! (1/2) #startupsummer21
I had such a great time working on the pitch for our startup "Duckling" with my team this past week. Duckling focuses on connecting independent restaurants with "ugly" produce from local farms. Check out our business model below! #zerofoodwastefuture#startupsummer21
https://t.co/m1vK09nG5m is just one example of output from #netnography, a technique that analyses and compiles consumers' internet behaviours to draw new insights. Check out one of your favourite brands to see if you fit with other consumers visiting their page! #startupsummer21
Looking at https://t.co/Ona30pO60o, the 3 pages are likely: landing page, menu page, specific menu category (ex. hot coffees). And I'm not sure about you, but usually I don't take longer than a 1:50 to browse & decide which caffeinated drink I want/need! (2/2) #startupsummer21
Last class, we analyzed brand names by looking at their websites using https://t.co/m1vK09nG5m - I took a look at @starbucks and found that average visit duration was 1:50 and 3 pages per visit. Any guesses on the why behind these numbers? #startupsummer21
Another great lesson from @awokeNaware was to differentiate between what your customers want and what you think they want. This extends to the number of posts released per week, and even the colour of the products you release! These tweaks can have a huge impact #startupsummer21
@awokeNaware joined us to talk social media marketing! Something interesting: even the smallest differences in a company's user interface (such as a light vs dark theme) can increase customer engagement - it's important to consider ALL aspects of your platform! #startupsummer21
When thinking about my personal brand, I struggled to identify my strengths & describe myself. I felt limited by my biased view of myself, so my mentor pushed me to ask for other people's opinions to get a "360 view" of myself which shaped my final pitch! #startupsummer21
