Assemble was the first major high school hackathon since the pandemic, organized by a team of teenage Hack Clubbers in @figma's San Francisco HQ.

Cal Hacks 12.0 was insane! I'm super proud of the whole team for pulling it off :D

We had 3.3k hackers and 700 projects were shipped - that's double last year's Cal Hacks!

Plus we did it all at the Palace of Fine Arts w/ great food, a silent disco, and beautiful designs.

last year, I built our first engineering internship program from the ground up. Pitched it internally and owned recruiting, onboarding and program management

I met my closest friends in high school on @hackclub Slack. Nearly a decade later, I know them irl in SF, building incredible careers. That Slack is an archive of thousands of brilliant young ppl’s early days. @SlackHQ: stop rent-seeking & support the coolest thing on the web!

Slack is threatening to shut off a big nonprofit teen coding community @hackclub (which is amazing and which I’ve helped for years) with just 3 days to migrate off. This would strand thousands of of the world’s smartest future coders. They are asking for $50k (a surprise 60x nonprofit price increase) but won’t even give assurances of more time or future service if that’s paid.

Anyone who can help? Feels like a mistaken decision on their part by someone who isn’t seeing the whole picture.
