A7: Try to communicate pos & neg things ahead of time. Conferences should be a check in time, not the first time a parent is hearing from you in a positive way, or confronted with issues. Be as organized as possible with work samples to show where students are. #NSDedchat
A6: I know it's basic, but I use Sheets to stay organized. A lot of our IEP goals are effectively tracked on ESGI so that really helps too! We document ongoing data with data sheets for each student daily in our room as well. #NSDedchat
A5: Previously I used ClassDojo and loved it because it was behavior and communication all in one. Since we are all using PBIS rewards now, I am trying to get the hang of Google Phone because I find texting parents is the easiest way for quick communication. #NSDedchat
A4: I like to do glow and grows with each student ahead of time.
This is one thing they feel successful at, and one thing they need to continue to grow at. This is a great conversation starter between myself, student, and parents. #NSDedchat
@bucknersclass I do love that about SeeSaw- parents can constantly see updates on it plus students get to take paper and projects home that they are proud of, but you can still see progress from the beginning of the year since itโs all digitally saved.
A2: I am a SPED teacher now, so I just tag along to our shared kiddos with a smile & positive attitude! I make sure I am organized and prepared to share. #NSDedchat
Everyoneโs (no matter how big or small) feelings are valid. There is a reason they are feeling that way in that moment. Help them process and understand so they can continue to grow those coping skills!!! โค๏ธ
