NEWS | Police Personnel Caught On Camera Assaulting Delivery Agent In Guwahati

A police personnel was caught on camera assaulting a delivery agent near Jail Road traffic point in Fancy Bazar on November 15. The video, recorded by a passerby, has since sparked outrage on social media.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 PM, according to an eyewitness. It began when the delivery agent allegedly broke a signal near Jail Road.

A police officer reportedly pursued him, dragged him to the side of the road, and started assaulting him.

In the video, the officer can be seen gripping the agent's neck and angrily questioning, "Where do you think you are going?" and "I will kill you" The situation escalated as the officer repeatedly struck the agent, ignoring pleas from onlookers.

The eyewitness who recorded the incident alleged that the officer, upon noticing the recording, turned on them, issuing threats and demanding they stop filming. Several other bystanders attempted to intervene, but the officer allegedly threatened them as well, warning them to "mind their business."

Talking to GPlus, a police official said, "The delivery agent tried to escape even after the PSO instructed him to halt. The agent was riding on towards No Entry."

I booked a @GoFirstairways flight from Guwahati to Delhi on 11th of May, 2023. With the ref no. VFQTHH The flight got cancelled for some technical reason and I was promised of a full repayment. But no amount was credited to my account.
