On #PPP basis, India is far ahead of what nominal exchange rates suggest.
I’m currently in #London, and the difference is striking:
3 small glasses of sugarcane juice cost us ₹3,000. The same would cost around ₹100 for large glasses in India.
A meal for 3 in London easily costs ₹5,000–10,000 without ordering extravagantly. In Gurgaon, one of India’s costliest cities, we’d typically spend ₹3,000–5,000.
Even short bus/train rides can cost ₹250–600.
Yes, our per-capita income is much lower and the rupee doesn’t go far abroad. But when your #income and #expenses are both in #India, the #PurchasingPower of that income is surprisingly strong.
I’m genuinely glad we live in a country where a #reasonable income can still buy a #comfortable life.
There is no logical reason that Meta will find to push this shit to my feed, but it does. Of course, Vyom Bhatia and Anirudh Briefs will never be pushed on to my friends’ timelines. How does the government intend to solve it without arm-twisting Meta?
Video after video of complete Vande Mataram sung in schools, colleges, other institutions and by artists, with the line "तोमारई प्रतिमा गडी मन्दिरे-मन्दिरे" resounding inside all our souls, making our eyes wet with happiness.
The goddess is enshrining herself. Vande Mataram!
@evoyage@samyak128 Unfortunately, yes. It is a well trodden path to go abroad and study and settle there.
The task that demands more skill and energy is to stay within the country, face the challenges, and set up a successful career and start nice cultured family who will be anchors of society.
The indian cope in these replies mentioning people no one has ever heard of is so funny. My point wasn't even about indians in particular, they are just the best example of how a large population doesn't automatically produce talent. Especially when that large population has a low average IQ. Ultimately you just get a lot of useless biomass who make it more difficult for geniuses to reach their potential.
Yeah that’s not how greatness works, Jeff. India has 2X more people than the entire earth did in Mozart’s time and they’ve produced precisely zero Mozarts. Numbers don’t produce greatness, cultures do.
It’s baffling how such smart people think and say the stupidest things.
When you pay ₹1,500 for a dosa at a 5-star hotel, apparently you are not allowed to eat it with your hands. 🤣
Fork and spoon are compulsory!
Here is the official training video on how to eat a dosa like a 5-star guest :)
This is Rafiq Hussain Bhattuk. He was a leader in Godhra, owned two petrol pumps, and it was he who arranged the petrol used to burn the Sabarmati train. He remained absconding for 14 years. The Gujarat Intelligence Bureau had kept his relatives and family members under surveillance, with all their phones being monitored. One day, he called his son because he had become a grandfather. The surveillance traced his location to Delhi. He then told his son that he would secretly come to Godhra on a certain date because he wanted to see his grandson.
The police decided it would be better to let him come to Godhra rather than arrest him in Delhi. He arrived in Godhra, where police officers in plain clothes were stationed at the railway station and arrested him.
Yesterday, all of his crimes were proven in court, and he was sentenced to life imprisonment. Remember when Lalu Yadav used to say that the fire on the Sabarmati Express in Godhra had started on its own and that no one had set it? After confessing everything, he told the police that he had spent those 14 years living in Lajpat Rai Market in Old Delhi.
Just think about how vast the ecosystem of these religious terrorists is. Did any journalist report this news?
“India First.”
LaGuardia International Airport, NYC. Not justifying any flooding anywhere. Even if it is at Noida Airport, an airport developed and operated under a 40-year contract by Flughafen Zurich Airport International, a Swiss airport operator.
Just letting Indians know these things don't happen only in India. Feedback, complaints, and criticism is OK - no matter even if the airport is privately developed and run.
But understand there's a concerted effort going on to blackpill everyone in India that "everything bad happens only in India" and "everything is worst in India."
Though India is building at scale, is catching up on nearly 70 years of very poor development of infra, and still doing better than many developed and rich countries for its per-capita.
Do not give space to these constant blackpillers who do not offer a solution. Even if you are anti-Govt, anti-rulingparty, anti-Modi, etc.
Understand their constant blackpilling, using every issue, destroys your future and your brain. The brain literally degrades. https://t.co/SyPaGPSDfp
