After being declared brain dead following a stroke while on duty in the high-altitude region of Ladakh, his organs were donated through the courageous decision of his wife, Smt Kusum, giving six people a second chance at life.

In a historic first, Command Hospital (Western Command) also successfully retrieved lungs from a deceased donor, marking a major milestone in military medical care.

A salute to the selfless sacrifice of Naib Risaldar Virender Singh and the extraordinary courage of Smt Kusum.
