So it means the reasons and sequences of events are unclear and IIT was so quick to jump to character assassinate by claiming that “student died because of cheating.” Beyond shameful!

[Suraj Kumar Bauddh @SurajKrBauddh]

You are "Team Caste", not Team India.

First, Sahil Wakode scored an 8.5 CGPA in his first year, so the cheating angle is false.

Second, he'd been facing constant casteist remarks and threats for several months.

Third, it was the director, and faculty members who abetted him to die by suicide.

What the hell do you think you are to pass judgment against the deceased victim and his family members? Are you a judge?

Tehseen Poonawalla is a classic example of how Savarnas wear masks of progressiveness to fool people, but in reality, remain staunch casteists. This kind of open support to the murderer raises serious questions about how caste prejudice continues to shape public discourse.

Not me!!

[VAD @D_Vaivab]

For all the online trolls, who went mad over my previous tweet. This is what I was speaking about. Even in case of academic dishonesty, a Public Institute should not issue a press release characterising a deceased student on two clear accounts:

1. It forecloses all possibilities of an objective investigation into the suicide.

2. The standard practice around Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC) proceedings is anonymity. Preemptive mentioning of the DAC in the press release was erroneous.

IITs are heavy bureaucracies. They are quite aware of these procedural know-hows. I have been a part of DACs as a Student Representative and I can unequivocally say that this was nothing short of enabling a public feeding frenzy around a 19 year old dead student.

Please note this mob is not in my support..

Yesterday some joke of a professor was saying that he wants to protest against this protest.. I am so disgusted.

Hang my head in shame. How can we be so cruel?

List of Caste based Atrocities on Dalit Students in Modem India.

Proven by Investigative agencies and culprit punished-

1. AIIMS Delhi Thorat Committee (2007): Govt committee found caste discrimination against SC/ST students at AIIMS, differential treatment in Evaluation, VIVA.

[Suryakant Waghmore @Suryakant_Waghm]

deanship is taken and they are protesting. Is deanship birth right?
What kind of dean speaks to students with such insensitivity?
All that the leadership advised us yesterday was the need for faculty to be sensitive to student needs &
here we go they are united

against what?

It is impossible to talk abt student suicides without being labelled partisan by one or the other side. We did with farmer suicides too.
Result: voices of suicide prevention experts are drowned in the cacophony.
Suicides are a public health issue. Trying again with a thread 1/n

Shekhar, you should move to Gujarat, because it has had BJP rule for over 25 years so the "quality of life" must be exceptionally excellent there.

As someone said on FB, the only thing deciding ‘pyoor’ and impure is what oppressor caste folks think they can or cannot eat.
It is neither a scientific nor a culturally sensitive definition

It’s ‘pyoor’ caste…nothing else

Vitamin B12 is ONLY found in animal source foods (ASF). There is no known plant source.

Milk contains B12 & is the main protection against the deficiency for those who don't consume meat/fish/eggs, then milk is ASF.

You can't benefit off one ASF while criminalising other ASF.
