Because there’s so much DELIBERATE misinformation around this issue, we’re going to spell it out properly AGAIN.

Stan Grant named TWO parts of the media as the reason he’s leaving TV for now:

1. The #NewsCorpse press who’ve been attacking him with racist shit for years but especially since his appearance on the Coronation broadcast where he (correctly and reasonably) named some of the problems with the Monarchy and colonialism;

AND

2. His colleagues from the ABC and other media organisations who’ve been absolutely SILENT in the face of the abuse and racism he’s been subject to both recently and longer into the past.

For their own varied reasons, some of his media colleagues (mainly at #NewsCorpse) are now claiming he’s left because of social media racism, and some (at the ABC) are claiming he’s left because of #NewsCorpse.

BOTH THOSE REASONS ARE WRONG, OR AT BEST INCOMPLETE.

Grant specifically said he’s NOT leaving because of the racism. He also specifically said he’s leaving because of the lack of support from his bosses and colleagues in the face of the racism of other media outlets.

They’re ALL ducking for cover and misrepresenting him, because they can’t fucken take it that THEY ARE THE FUCKING PROBLEM.

Australia’s media lies and lies and lies and lies and lies, and when they’re caught out they just lie and lie and lie and lie again.

The hubris, refusal to care about truth, and belief that because they say it’s true they MAKE IT TRUE aren’t surprising, but they are FUCKING TERRIFYING.

They can’t get it right, they won’t get it right, and they JUST DON’T CARE AS LONG AS THEIR OWN CUSHY JOBS AND THEIR MEDIA MATES ARE SAFE.

Criticism of Grant on this thread will be BLOCKED.

Because while not all the criticism of Grant is racism, ALL OF IT IS AMPLIFIED WAY BEYOND WHAT ANY WHITE MALE WOULD FACE IN A SIMILAR SITUATION … BECAUSE OF THE FUCKING RACISM.
