Katsina Security Update:
1. The initiative follows the National Policy Framework developed after consultations convened by the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) in collaboration with the United Kingdom Strengthening Peace and Resilience in Nigeria (UK SPRING) Programme across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
2. Katsina was selected as one of the pilot states for the implementation of the programme in recognition of its commitment to community-driven security engagement and non-kinetic approaches to tackling insecurity.
3. The committee comprises key stakeholders from government institutions, security agencies, traditional institutions, religious bodies, and civil society organizations.

5. The committee is mandated to advise the State Government and Security Council on DDR, peacebuilding, and community security matters. It will also oversee the profiling, screening, rehabilitation, and reintegration of individuals willing to renounce violence and embrace peaceful coexistence.
6. Governor Radda once again reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to adopting comprehensive and sustainable approaches to addressing insecurity through dialogue, reconciliation, and strategic partnerships aimed at restoring peace and stability across Katsina State.
