Asked at Oregon football media day about the differences between the Ducks' program and Nebraska's program, QB Dylan Raiola opened up:
“There’s not cornfields here. There’s mountains and trees, and I love the nature. As far as football, it’s different, you know, with coaches and players, we have a lot more talent than we did at Nebraska. And I don’t say that to knock on them, but I think everybody will know that.
“But I’m very grateful for my time there. Learned a lot from my coaches, teammates — still have those relationships — but I think that I’m really excited for what Oregon’s going to bring.”

Indiana's Curt Cignetti w/shots fired at SEC: "We don't run a hype machine up here in the Midwest. We believe everything is earned, not given. When we fall short, we say we fall short. When we don't win, we don't cry a river. We don't whine & complain. That's why we're the best."
The best part of football is here:
1) Its not the 100,000 people in the stands
2) Its not the millions watching on TV
3) Its not the making the cover of Sports Illustrated or Rolling Stone
4) Its not the winning touchdown in the last second
5) Its not the $million new contract
6) Its not everybody singing your praises
7) Its not the fans wanting your autograph
No…None of those
A) Its the funky qlocker smell surrounded by your brothers
B) Its the inside drill period where the softest player on the team somehow found his courage and became a warrior for the team
C) Its the one on one competition between the best receiver and the best corner who talk trash better than anyone and then back it up…The corner wins a rep and the receiver wins the next one
D) Its the 430 am alarm clock that tells u your unique as 99% of the world is asleep and u go to work
E) Its the weight lifting session where u set a new personal best when u weren't sure your body could even move
F) Its the fourth interception of the day the qb threw but made him understand coverages better than 50 completions in a row
G) Its the third team right guard who won two 1 on 1 reps in a row against the projected first round draft pick
H) Its the senior picking up the sophomore in his beat up pick up truck and having to go beat on the window to get him out of bed and then scalding him for not setting two alrm clocks instead of one
I) Its the player who was given one last chance by the coach and makes good on his promise to be a better human and then shows the world the coach was right
J) Its the electric shock waves u take from the trainer that hurt and burn but give u a 20% better chance to not miss a practice
K) Its the full scale team brawl of offense versus defense and the team captains breaking it up that makes everyone realize this team has every ones back and will unite like no other
L) Its the entire team taking a bus to be by the side of a teammate who lost his mom in a tragic death
M) Its the team talent show where everyone realizes the third team senior DL is more talented than the last American Idol winner
Football brings together every race, sexual orientation, political affiliation, music preference, body type, and personality and throws them together in a locker room to physically battle each other every day just to have 10-16 times in a season to bond together to whip another teams ass.
So welcome. The best time of the year is upon us.
This is Steve Zayachkowski.
Charleston Southern wrapped up practice 30 minutes ago. It’s hot, humid, awful out. Everyone inside. Gabe Giardina, gone.
1 player remains on the field. Working on technique by himself. Hitting the sled, by himself. No coaches.
Their best player. Their senior captain. Their 1st team all-conference guy.
