@DInterpreters My 10th positive story: not only the support given to people living with dementia, but also their relatives and seeing the outcome of my input, gives me the greatest job satisfaction
@DInterpreters My 9th positive story: Took some tomato plants to a lady I care for, as she loves gardening. Seeing her enjoy planting them out in the garden was amazing. A simple but important activity to promote her independence and wellbeing
@DInterpreters My 8th Positive Dementia story: I took a client to a Disco Night last Friday. She had not gone out dancing for years. Seeing her smile, dance and enjoying herself not only filled me with joy, but for her to remember days later, gives me the greatest satisfaction💃
@DInterpreters My 7th Positive dementia story: I borrowed a couple of books from the library: Memories from the 50s & 60s and took it to one of my clients who did not talk much. What an amazing way to get her to speak about her childhood and open up
@DInterpreters 5th positive dementia story: Have been showing my client her daughter's baby scans, 1st baby due in August. It is wonderful to see how, even if recent memories do not stay, emotions do. My clients is aware now she will be a nanny :-)
@DInterpreters My 4th positive dementia story: a lady I care for was most of the time reluctant to receive visitors at first. I got her a calendar and wrote down all the visits she would get in the week. She can now track the visits she gets and is more open to visitors
@DInterpreters my 3rd positive dementia story: A client I care for has pictures, on the wall, of her dad when he worked on the river Thames. One day I took her out to the promenade where she used to go when little. Memories started flowing. I learnt a lot about her past that day
@DInterpreters My 2nd positive dementia story: I care for a lady who loves dancing. Since being diagnosed, she has been unable to play her CD player. I visited her last week and played music for her. She loved it and could not thank me enough. Seeing her smile made my day
@DInterpreters Here is one of my positive Dementia stories: I care for a lady who was a singer. I have connected with her through music, as we sing together in most visits. Sometimes she only needs to hear the music once and she will remember the tune for the rest of the visit!
@Hermesparcels It is impossible to contact your CS. Have been trying for the last 2 hours and go in circles. I need to cancel an order, and unable via your App or website. So frustrating!!!
Surely a coincidence this comes just 24 hours after Harry’s grandmother the Queen spoke of her pride for son Charles and grandson William in their efforts leading up to #COP26
