EMERGENCY DEEP CLEAN LAGOS | CENTRAL V DEPLOYMENT

The LAWMA Emergency Deep Clean team was deployed on 20th July 2026 to carry out an intensive cleanup exercise along the Apapa–Ajegunle corridor in the Central V Region, reinforcing our commitment to cleaner, healthier, and more livable communities across Lagos.

The operation commenced at 6:00 a.m. and lasted approximately three hours, covering key locations including Marine Beach, NAFDAC, Mobile, Agbo-Malu, Arakan Barracks, and Ashanti Barracks. The exercise focused on the evacuation of accumulated waste, clearing environmental black spots, and restoring cleanliness across these strategic locations.

The exercise forms part of LAWMA’s ongoing Emergency Deep Clean Lagos initiative, designed to improve environmental sanitation, enhance public health, and maintain cleaner road corridors across the state.

To further strengthen the efficiency of these operations, increased operational capacity, including additional support trucks for both the inward and outward corridors, will help accelerate waste evacuation and sustain cleaner public spaces.

A cleaner Lagos is a shared responsibility. While LAWMA continues to work tirelessly to clear waste black spots across the state, residents and businesses are encouraged to patronise their assigned PSP operators for proper waste collection, refrain from indiscriminate waste disposal, and play their part in keeping Lagos clean.
