1840s: "We must slow down rail expansion for public safety" (Reality: ran out of cash)
2000: "Y2K and market shifts require budget freezes" (Reality: zero profits)
2026: "We are pausing AI for existential risks" (Reality: data is gone, power grids maxxed, burn rate is fatal)
@keithedwards I think it’s more they want legislation to prevent other companies and open source models from being built so they can have a monopoly-ish.
None of them care about safety
@0xsyncbtx@murtaza sadly you're right😢. a complete shame literally every hardware wallet company are completely incompetent leaving this as the only sensible looking option to most people right now
@marc02200 fairs. voo has outperformed vwrl anyway because the US stock market has heavily outperformed the rest of the world, but vwrl gives a safety net. imo, bitcoins upside over the long term is so large that you dont need that much of it in a portfolio. drawdowns just scare me tho, lol
@marc02200 I pretty much predicted 90% of his announcement the other day when I was thinking about it. I mean, i wouldnt call it bullish, more like his only option. STRC is a ponzi tbh, MSTR is an interesting leveraged instrument as u can’t get margin called. Just my thoughts
Just to be clear, if you remove Fable which is unavaialble, GLM-5.2 (Max) is the #1 model in the world for frontend coding.
This is a huge moment. OSS has caught up with proprietary, and China has caught up with the US, in this very important domain.
@saltjsx aren't you still sending user chats to Anthropic/OpenAI in plaintext?☠️. encryption at rest doesn't really fix that. @AskVenice have an option to use TEEs for actual privacy I think. that's the only true private way to do this, no offence. good luck regardless.
